Set the jig on your work surface
Tape it down with blue painter's tape if you want it extra secure (tape not included)
Place your inked block in the corner alignment
Position your paper along the grid line you've chosen
Use a small piece of tape to mark which grid line you're using
Repeat for every sheet in your edition
The clearly marked grid lets you see your block placement. The corner keeps your block stable. The tape marks keep your paper position consistent.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth after use. Store flat when not in use. Acrylic won't absorb ink and cleans up easily.
Q: Will this work with mounted linoleum blocks?
A: It's designed for unmounted lino. If your block is mounted on wood, you can raise the jig to match the block height using cardstock or scrap wood underneath.
Q: What paper sizes can I use?
A: Any size paper or block. The jig cradles the corner for alignment, so it works with small prints or large ones.
Q: Do I need special tape?
A: Blue painter's tape works best. It holds the jig steady and marks your alignment without damaging your work surface. Tape is not included with the jig.
Q: Can I use this with a printing press?
A: Yes. The jig works with presses as long as it fits on your press bed. It's also great for hand printing with a baren or spoon if you don't have press access.
Q: Will this work with Speedball Speedy-Carve or rubber blocks?
A: Yes, as long as your material is at least 1/8" thick. The corner alignment works with any relief material.
Q: How do I clean it?
A: Wipe with a damp cloth or paper towel. Acrylic is easy to clean and won't absorb ink. Avoid harsh solvents that might cloud the acrylic.
Q: What if I need a larger size?
A: Message me to discuss custom dimensions. I can make larger jigs for bigger print projects.
NOTE: These jigs are cut to order. Please allow 10 business days processing before your order ships out.
